How must a Vermont employer secure workers’ compensation?
The Vermont Statutes provide that employers, not including State, county, or municipal bodies, shall secure compensation for their employees in one or more of the ways the section lists — beginning with insuring the payment with a carrier authorised to transact workers’ compensation insurance in the state. The section states the duty of employers generally, without setting an employee count.
