Is workers’ compensation coverage required of private employers in Texas?

The Texas Department of Insurance states that Texas law requires at least $30,000 of coverage for injuries per person, up to a total of $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 of coverage for property damage — what the Department calls 30/60/25 coverage. It is a floor, not a recommendation: the Department adds that those limits might be too low in a multi-vehicle accident.
