How does a Nebraska employer secure workers’ compensation liability?
The Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act states that to secure the payment of compensation, an employer in the occupations the Act describes shall either insure and keep insured its liability with a company licensed to transact workers’ compensation insurance in the state, or obtain the compensation court’s approval to self-insure.
“shall either (a) insure and keep insured its liability under such act in some corporation, association, or organization authorized and licensed to transact the business of workers' compensation insurance in this state”
This is reporting, not advice. Rules change, and the authority above is the one that changes them — confirm your situation there or with a licensed producer before you act on it.
