How many employees before Mississippi requires workers’ compensation coverage?
The Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission states that all employers with five (5) employees regularly employed are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage, and that where an employer has less than five (5) employees the coverage is not mandatory but may be provided voluntarily. The Commission publishes domestic and farm labour among the exceptions.
“All employers with five (5) employees regularly employed are required to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage. If the employer has less than five (5) employees, workers' compensation coverage is not mandatory but may be provided voluntarily by the employer.”
