What the regulator says
Each answer below is what a named authority publishes, quoted so you can check it, with the date we last confirmed it against their page.
When does Alabama require workers’ compensation coverage?
The Alabama Department of Labor states that if you regularly employ less than five (5) employees, the state’s workers’ compensation law does not require coverage. Alabama frames the threshold as an exemption below five rather than as a requirement at five, which is why it reads inverted next to most states.
“If you regularly employ less than five (5) employees”
What liability limits must an Alabama motor vehicle dealer carry?
The Alabama Department of Revenue states that each dealer must maintain blanket liability insurance coverage for all vehicles owned or associated with the business, at a floor of $25,000 bodily injury per person per accident, $50,000 combined bodily injury per accident, and $25,000 property damage per accident, or a combined single limit of $75,000 per accident. This is the dealer rule specifically — the Department publishes the general mandatory liability requirement separately.
“Each dealer must maintain blanket liability insurance coverage for all vehicles owned or associated with the business. Minimum insurance limits are: $25,000 bodily injury/person/accident $50,000 combined bodily injury/accident $25,000 property damage/accident or a combined single limit of $75,000/accident”
